James Wilson Fellowship, Naples, FL

In partnership with the Alliance Defending Freedom, Prof. Hadley Arkes led five days of seminars on natural law in Naples, Florida, July 7-12, 2014.  In those concentrated sessions, he dealt with these central points:  the moral ground of the law;  the properties of moral truths and how we know them; but then beyond that, how we may apply those principles of natural law systematically to the cases that arise in our law.  The question was whether we can shape in that way a jurisprudence with moral coherence. Arkes was joined occassionally in these seminars by two gifted teachers of law and philosophy, Michael Uhlmann and David Forte.
